Legislative Assembly to assess and quantify the presence and influence of Asian communities. The prevailing attitudes of the day helped to demonize the information presented in this report, precipitating many damaging aftereffects for Asian communities. Cover title. Side stapled paper wraps, 4to size (10.5 inches tall), pp. 24, numerous in-text tables and a large fold-out table "Number of Trade Licences Issued to Orientals in British Columbia in 1925." at rear. n.b. the fold-out table at rear was also used as the lower cover by the printer, as evidenced by the binding staples being completely covered by the portion of the foldout at the spine, not only on this copy, but also as seen on another institutionally held copy. Paper is toned and brittle w. rear cover (foldout table) detached but present, upper cover w. some tears and brief ink notation near top edge, else unmarked throughout. Good or Better. Item #5444
The 1927 report includes statistical information in the following areas : population, land-holdings, industry, attendance of public schools, and trading activities, covering the Japanese, Chinese, and East Indian populations.
