[California] Photo of Historic Harris Saddlery & Nakagawa Buildings in Marysville
Marysville, CA: n.p., [c. 1900]. Loose Photograph. A circa 1900, gelatin silver photo of the H. M. Harris Saddlery building in Marysville (Yuba County) California, measuring 10.5 x 13.5 inches wide. The H. M. Harris Saddlery Co. was a renown pioneer saddlery & harness maker that was in business from the 1850's to 1923, and was located next to the historic Nakagawa Store, seen on it's right. Photo w. some soil, stains and minor creasing, a one half inch closed tear at bottom edge and some soil and ink notations ("D. Bates 1-8v10 / Corner of 3rd & C St. North side of street. Nakagawa Store can be seen on right, facing (C) street.") on verso. It appears that both proprietors can be seen out in front of their respective stores. Very Good. Item #5303
Being as the saddlery went out of business in 1923, this photo would easily predate that, sadly, both buildings have since been lost to time.
