[Woodstock Jail] 1895 Printed Broadside Requesting Tenders for Gaol Supplies
Woodstock, ON: 1895. Broadside. A scarce Canadian 19th century broadside, requesting Gaol supply tenders for the county of Woodstock, Ontario in 1895, printed in black ink onto a single large sheet of thin manila colored paper measuring 18" tall x 12.25" wide. Envelope-size fold lines still discernible w. some toning, closed tears and minor losses from edges, three short fold line tissue repairs on verso. With "Chronicle Presses, Ingersoll." printed near bottom edge. At Least Very Good. Item #5160
A stalwart piece of 19th century Canadian ephemera, meant to be pasted up in public spaces for potential suppliers to read, prior to being lost to time and the elements. OCLC records just a single, similar Canadian broadside, that being a 1909 Gaol supply tender request, held by LAC Canada.
