[New Brunswick] Photo of Rebuilding after Great Fire July 11th, 1910 in Campbellton

Campbellton, NB: n.p., 1910. Postcard. A postally used RPPC, showing the rebuilding of Campbellton, New Brunswick after their devastating "Great Fire" of 1910. Card with a Sept. 26th, 1910 Campbellton, NB cancel and "Three days after the fire" written in black ink on the verso. Photo shows much rebuilding underway in the background, a new nailed-down tar paper roof on the McKenzie & Trueman building, a fresh stock of "Havelock" soda on the wooden sidewalk and scattered debris still laying in the street. Regardless, just 72 hours after the devastating fire, these resilient folks had already rebuilt, and were up and running and back in business. Card with some wear and soil. Very Good. Item #4965

A scarce view of Campbellton shortly after it had burned completely to the ground by "... an immense seething furnace” leaving it's 6,000 inhabitants, homeless.
