[Kootenay, Prince George] 1913 Fort George Heights Promotional Land Sale Package w. Maps

Vancouver, BC: British Columbia Estates, Ltd., 1913. Promotional Maps. A rare set of Fort George Heights promotional land sale maps ("Corrected to Feb. 25th, 1913") and related ephemera, including the original mailing envelope addressed to one Mr. Thomas [E.] Bulmer, late of Procter, BC, and thence, via a penciled correction, to Grey Creek, BC, on the east shore of Kootenay Lake. Two of the three enclosed return envelopes bear the rubber stamp of Mr. Thomas Bulmer, who was apparently working as an agent for British Columbia Estates and based confusingly, in Zelma, Saskatchewan [pop. 28 in 2021]. The two large promo pieces are double elephant folio size, and measure 24 x 36.5 inches wide and 24.5 x 36.5 inches wide, folding at center to create very large, newspaper-sized promo pieces. Both are printed recto and verso in black ink onto calendered paper, and include key plans, price lists, terms, plat maps, and an application to purchase in the three distinct areas, Fort George Heights, Central Fort George and the McGregor Addition. There are fold lines from being mailed. All items are in unmarked, fine condition with the original mailing envelope being in poor, ragged condition from taking abuse for the team. Fine. Item #4828

In 1913, the Fort George Heights development was located north of the Nechako river, while Fort George and the McGregor Addition were located between the Nechako and Fraser rivers, near the confluence of the two rivers.
