Compton, CA: McDonald's Party House, [1944]. Broadside. Billed as "The Greatest Attraction of It's Kind Ever Offered as a Floor Show in Southern California" this rare piece of Compton, CA ephemera was printed to advertise the first annual circus held at the McDonald's Party House in Compton, California in August, 1944. A printed broadside, measuring 18 x 12 inches wide, printed on recto only in red ink onto thin paper, with some toning and minor edge wear, fold lines and a small stain at left edge, date in pencil "1944" at lower right corner. Originally printed to be pasted up and pinned up around town, this copy may have been a file copy - or mailed farther afield, judging by the fold lines and it's great condition. At Least Very Good. The first annual week long party and the gala show of the year, hosted at McDonald's Party House, offered Animals, Acrobats, Aerial Acts, Clowns, Novelties, Comedy aaand the "Slide for Life - You'll Want to See This More Than Once" - it really must have been quite the party house!
