Full leather over boards, title stamped in gilt onto red leather spine label, 12mo (6-3/8 inches tall), pp. xvi, [1]-296, [1-51 - indices], [52 - blank], an engraved fold-out examplar demonstrates the various cuts used for grafting and inoculating. Volume w. wear to covers, upper joint partially cracked, lacks a rfep, 1st fep (of 3) partially adhered to front pastedown, stains and browning to title w. spotting to prelims., occasional soil and staining throughout, engraved fold-out w. a short closed tear at bottom edge, some soil spots and toning to edges with minor loss to left edge (none of which affect illustrations), terminal leaf with a period paper repair to a two inch closed tear at fore-edge and, an interesting period leather repair/addition[?] shaped like a very large thumb to lower cover near turn in. Even with the foregoing, this book remains a well bound, useable copy of a difficult title. Near Very Good. Item #3188
