A copy of the first printing and originally published in wraps, this copy finds itself in a contemporary, "Parmelee Library Edition" binding (aka "University of the Traveling Library") and with two rubber stamps - "George F. Wright / Logan, Utah / June 27, 1890" on the ffep, and "Read by G.F. Wright / Logan, Utah" at the foot of terminal text leaf. Mr. George F. Wright - possibly a Scottish Mormon living in Logan, just north of Brigham City - has also written his name in black cursive ink onto the "Property Of" page. Rivet-bound black cloth over boards with title blind stamped onto upper cover, 12mo size (7-1/8 inches tall), pp. 223 [224 - blank], colored endpapers, sprinkled edges, original sewn-in bookmark detached but present. Volume w. wear to covers and spine ends, minor toning and few creases to text, else unmarked throughout. Very Good. Item #3059

"The H. Parmelee Library Company was founded in Iowa in 1882. It developed a rotating "package" collection which it called the University of the Traveling Library. The company relocated to Chicago in 1898 where it continued to market its rotating package library as a way of providing "A Thoroughly Equipped and Permanent Library In every Town and Hamlet in America."
