This copy still in the scarce dust jacket. Red cloth over boards, title stamped in black onto upper board and spine, 12mo (7-5/8 inches tall), pp. [i]-viii, 196, illustrated, bibliography, indicies. Volume with offset from DJ flaps, ink name to ffep under front flap, occasional faint browning and some minor spotting to eps and text block edges. Price intact DJ is toned with some soil and spotting, chips to spine ends and flap folds, a narrow, three inch "V" shaped tear affecting the spine and back panel, browning from a once present tape repair on back panel and a one inch loss from the point of the "V" Very Good / About Good. This volume was required reading for Infant Educators seeking their certificates back in the day and would have helped to keep Montessori's methods among the forefront. From the front flap "Originally prepared to meet the requirements of the Course in History of Infant Education for the Infant Mistress Endorsement of the Scottish Education Department, it covers for the most part the recently issued syllabus in the same subject for the award of the Teachers Certificate of the National Froebel Union."
