Newark, NJ: The Osborne Company, 1932. Paperback. An uncommon Salesman's Sample Book, illustrating how direct mail campaigns were approached during the days of the Great Depression. String bound heavy paper wraps, paste down label on upper cover with title "Direct Mail Campaigns", oblong 4to (11 inches tall x 13-1/2 inch wide), pp. [36] having samples displayed recto and verso, filled with various samples of cards, calendars, desktop advertising and printed mail outs, some being of famous people, adages, or occasionally worded in a somewhat inappropriate way for use today. Sample count : 2 folding mailers, 22 folding calendar brochures, 8 "Desk Maxims" w. stands, 2 cards, 1 card remnant, 12 printed or colored envelopes. Covers with heavy wear, loose and seperated at spine - but still funcitional in a custom mylar cover, many internal samples have been removed, those remaining are in at least good condition with some having soil or stains, creases or small tears from misfolds.
