A very uncommon penmanship chart with it's original mailing envelope together with Freeman's matching book for the teaching of handwriting. Book : Brown cloth over boards, title and decorations stamped in blind onto upper board, title stamped in gilt onto spine, 12mo (6-7/8 inches tall), pp. [x], 1-155, [158], illustrated with charts (five being fold-outs at rear), tables and line drawings. Volume covers are rubbed and worn with hinges starting to crack and loosen, name in pencil to front pastedown and ffep, text with light soil, some pencil underlining and notations, charts are all complete, with stub and short closed edge tears, one with a misfold and edge wear. Chart : Broadside printed in black ink onto heavy, watermarked (PRESTIGE / LINEN LEDGER / Owl Image) paper measuring 24 inches tall x 26 inches wide and having a copyright date of "1914" printed at foot. Broadside is folded from original mailing and has one tiny speck of soil near center, else fine. Printed manila envelope (11-1/2 inches tall x 7-1/2 inches wide) : rubbed and worn with small tears and a piece missing from sealing flap. Book : Good / Chart : Very Near Fine. Item #2618
