Single issue newspaper with publisher's original green paper wrapper, folio (16-1/2 inches tall), pp. (625) - 648 [24 pp.], 3 columns of letterpress, illustrated throughout mostly with large engravings one titled "Indian Woman and Sick Papoose". Light wear with a few small chips and short closed edge tears. Very Good. Item #1891

A weekly Saturday newspaper with the publisher's dated wrapper still intact. Being an early, if not the first newspaper wrapper used by this publisher. An ad on the lower wrapper states "NOTICE TO ADVERTISERS. / THE GRAPHIC is now issued with a handsome Wrapper, / three pages of which are devoted to advertisments. / Advertisers can secure no better medium for advertisme- / ments requiring engravings or display.". Similar "Post Paid" newspaper wrappers (not issued by the periodical publisher) were also printed in Great Britain, with Stamped to Order wrappers being available from 1855 and regular postal wrappers starting in 1870.
