[Kootenay] Bird's-Eye View Photo of Paradise Mine in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia

[Nelson, BC]: [Nelson Daily News], 1951. Photograph. A nice bird's-eye view of the then-working Paradise Mine site, showing many of it's workers and period buildings. The Paradise mine is located in a high alpine basin below Mount Nelson near Invermere, British Columbia and was originally staked in 1899. An original 8x10" gelatin silver photograph taken by photographer J.M. Cummings for an article in the Friday, November 15th issue of the Nelson Daily News. The typed paper caption reads "Paradise Mine, in Purcell Range, altitude 7800 feet / silver-lead-zinc / Photo by J.M. Cummings.", additional notes in pencil are "Paradise Mine showing portal & mine buildings / 4 COL (722) Friday". Photo has two pin holes from paper caption being stapled into place at upper left corner, minor toning and soil verso ; the loose paper caption is toned. Very Good or Better. Item #4653
