[Kootenay] 1959 Bird's-Eye-View of Marysville, B.C.
Kimberley, BC: Charles Wormington, 1959. Unmounted Photograph. A B&W gelatin silver photograph measuring 6.5 x 8.25 inches wide, titled in blue ink along lower border "Marysville B.C. July 22 / 59", showing an aerial view of Marysville, B.C in 1959. Photo has the blind stamp "Charles Wormington / Professional Photographer / Kimberley, B.C." on the lower right corner. Photo has been trimmed on the right and lower edges but maintains the complete image as the borders are still discernible, a light crease to upper corner, finger soil and ink notations verso. Kimberley amalgamated with the former Village of Marysville on November 1, 1968, so this photo predates the amalgamation of the two towns. Very Good. Item #4456
Charles was born December 28, 1916 in Tonopah, Nevada, USA, and died July 5, 1994 in Kimberley. We were able to locate many of Wormington's documentary images held institutionally by CBT - but none of his pre-amalgamation, birds-eye-view of Marysville.
