n.p. c. 1930. Mounted Photograph. A rural family's post-mortem barn mourning photograph, evoking a sad and striking story. This silver gelatin print measures 4.75" x 6.75" wide and is mounted onto a paper covered 8"x10" decorative card mount having "Penner Maria Foh" printed in large red letters on verso. Mount is slightly curled, scuffed and dinged, photo edges were roughly trimmed prior to mounting, some scuffs and edge wear with mirroring near edges. Good Plus. Item #4154

While said to have been found in Kentucky, this image would strike a cord with farm workers and sharecroppers anywhere in the world.
