Dundee, Scotland: James Valentine & Co., (c. 1870). Mounted Photograph. James Valentine, an accomplished photographer, became world famous as the producer of picture postcards. A large format (7.25 x 11 inches wide) albumen silver salts on paper photograph. Photo is mounted onto card of c. the same measurements, showing the P.S. "Prince of Wales" loading passengers in Loch Lomond with Ben Lomond towering in the background. Titled and signed along the bottom edge in negative "Ben Lomond From Luss. 2021. J.V. [James Valentine]". Photo has some fading to edges, mount is toned with abrasions verso from a previous mounting. At Least Very Good. Item #4118
