About Fine / Near Fine. Item #1023
A very unusual copy - preceeding the first state of the first Cape edition - with all errors as called for, but lacking the erratum slip or any evidence of it ever having been there. This is because some copies were shipped overseas during the first two days of the production run, prior to the selection of an incorrect photo being noticed. Hence the need for an erratum slip. Gilbert notes there are just two other known copies of the first state that lack the errata slip. This copy also in the first state DJ, with the lamination uncorrected. Ref. Gilbert, A16a(1.1).
